MY LIFE

Family comes first.

With this in mind, I have been fortunate to have found a way to align my personal and professional values with the hopes of making a positive contribution to future generations.

Spending most of my formative years on Vancouver Island, I grew up in a rich landscape with natural abundance. Although I enjoyed it in my childhood, it has become more apparent to me as I get older that the preservation of this beauty and the freedom to blossom is not a given.

As a young adult, the desire to travel and educate myself led me to pursue my academic studies abroad. With a Rotary scholarship, I embarked on my first international adventure to Sweden. Next, it was Germany, followed by Paris, France. Having the opportunity to study in various countries provided extra challenges, language being one. Living in multiple cultures alongside other foreigners strengthens one’s understanding and respect for shared human experiences and the context that while there are many ways to live, we all value and need freshwater (and other resources), freedom of expression and love to thrive.

We need to overcome our polarization to reach solutions to our problems. We need to put the love back in sustainability.”
